CARL PERKINS & FRIENDS

BLUE SUEDE SHOES - A ROCKABILLY SESSION

IS ON PUBLIC TELEVISION

Featuring George Harrison, Eric Clapton,

Ringo Starr, Dave Edmunds, and Rosanne Cash

In a Newly Restored and Enhanced Presentation

Carl Perkins' "Portrait" CD Re-relased

Ambassador Entertainment has restored and enhanced Carl Perkins & Friends:  Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session, the legendary 1985 television concert tribute to Carl Perkins that starred Carl and featured an all-star group of musical greats. American Public Television (APT) is distributing the program to public television stations nationwide as a fundraising pledge special.

Written in October 1955 and released in January 1956, “Blue Suede Shoes” was an instant classic and earned a place in the history books when it became the first million-seller to cross over from the Country chart to the Pop and R&B listings. Swiftly covered by Elvis Presley and later performed by The Beatles, the song remains a Rock ’n’ Roll anthem. Fitting then that Carl Perkins, the man who wrote and first performed “Blue Suede Shoes,” should be accorded a television special to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Recorded at London’s Limehouse Studios in front of a live audience, Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session featured the great man himself alongside luminaries Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Dave Edmunds, and Rosanne Cash performing a selection of the songs Carl first introduced to the world back in the 1950s.

Ambassador's restoration and enhancement of Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session with state-of-the art technology has created a near-high-definition presentation with enhanced audio that brings the program to life as it has never before been experienced.

Ambassador, through Top Hat Tunes, has also re-packaged and re-released Carl's previously out-of-print Portrait CD. Portrait features Carl's recording session performances of 23 song, including Carl's own hits and some of the biggest hits by his musical friends.
